Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal takes over as ICAI President

The apex body of chartered accountants, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), announced on Monday that Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal has been elected as its President for the 2024-25 term, succeeding Aniket Talati.

Agarwal, the 72nd President of ICAI, previously served as Vice President during the 2023-24 term.

A graduate of Calcutta University, Agarwal has been a practicing Chartered Accountant for the past 24 years. Additionally, he holds qualifications as a Company Secretary and DISA from ICAI. He has been elected to the 23rd, 24th, and 25th Central Council of ICAI consecutively.

Charanjot Singh Nanda has been elected as Vice President of the institute, which has more than 4,00,000 members and over 8,50,000 students, according to a release.

Nanda brings over three decades of experience as a Chartered Accountant. He was first elected to the Central Council of ICAI in 2004 and served three consecutive terms, followed by another election in 2019. Additionally, he held the position of Chairman of the Northern India Regional Council of ICAI for the year 2002-2003.
